Oh Soo-min is sad to win his first Korean championship... WAAP 1st Runner-up

Oh Soo-min (17, Shinseong High School), the strongest amateur women's golf player in Korea, won the runner-up prize at the Women's Amateur Asia Pacific Championship (WAAP).

In the final fourth round of the seventh Women's Amateur Asia Pacific Championship (WAAP) held at Hoiana Shoers Golf Club (par 71) in Quangnam, Vietnam on Sunday, Oh reduced her shots by five birdies to 17-under 267 overall. Oh finished second to Janice Wong (18, under par 266), who maintained her No. 1 ranking. "I am so proud of being the runner-up in a big competition, and I will make more efforts to win the title next year so that I can participate in a major competition," Oh said after narrowly missing the Korean golfer's first championship title at the championship. Oh will participate in the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley Golf Club in South Carolina on May 21. Oh will also participate in the event, including Kai Trump, the granddaughter of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Hosted and organized by the Royal Golf Association of the United Kingdom (R&A) and the Asia-Pacific Golf Federation (APGC), the competition was established in 2018 and served as a gateway to athletes in the Asia-Pacific region.

Gino Thitikul (Thailand), who won the inaugural championship in 2018, as well as Yuka Saso (Japan), Patti Tawatanakit (Thailand) and other golfers who are active in the LPGA Tour have experienced the event as amateurs. The winner of the event will be given the chance to play in three major championships: the AIG Women's Open, the Chevron Championship, and the Amundi Evian Championship. They will also be given the chance to play at the Hana Financial Group Championship of the KLPGA Tour, the ISPS Handa Australian Women's Open, and the Augusta National Women's Amateur. 온라인바카라

Ninety-six players from 24 countries participated in this year's event. Five Korean players, including Oh Soo-min, made it to the top 10. Hong Soo-min ranked third (15 under par), Yang Yoon-seo (14 under par) tied for fourth, Park Seo-jin (16) tied for seventh (10 under par), and Park Seo-jin (17) tied for ninth (9 under par). "We will help Korean amateur players, including national teams, have diverse experience in international competitions and help them increase their WAGR points," said Kang Hyung-mo, chairman of the Korea Golf Association (KGA). "This will lead to a virtuous cycle in domestic competitions, and we expect to elevate the overall level of competitions."
